Bellator 53: Heavyweight Tournament Reserve Fight between Josh Burns and Thiago SantosBellator officials made a late addition to Saturday nights card which features the semi-finals of the Season 5 welterweight tournament.
A reserve fight between heavyweights, Josh Burns (6-4) and Thiago Santos (8-1) has been quickly added to the card to fulfill a possible gap in the bracket.
After successfully passing Neil Grove to move on in the heavyweight tournament, Mike Hayes may be scratched from the tourney due to a hand injury that earned him a 60-day medical suspension. If not cleared, the suspension will force Hayes to miss the October 29 continuation of the tournament at Bellator 56.
As a result, Burns and Santos are going to meet at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma.
Santos was originally a contestant in the tournament, but was pulled due to visa issues. With those administrative problems behind him, Santos has a second opportunity to slip into a tournament bracket. Santos is riding a two fight win streak into his inaugural Bellator event.
Burns on the other-hand is coming off of a doctor stoppage loss at Bellator 40 to Eric Prindle, which originally forced him from the tournament .

Miguel Torres and Nick Pace are going to San JoseThe already packed card for UFC 139 just jammed another feature bout into the mix with Miguel Torres (38-4) and Nick Pace (6-2) slated to fight in San Jose, Calif.
The verbal agreement between the fighters was announced by UFC boss Dana White.
Torres was a longtime WEC bantamweight champion and was on a 17-fight win streak until losing the belt to Brian Bowles. The former champ has had trouble finding that same consistency, going 3-2 since that loss. Torres most recently lost to Demetrious Johnson via unanimous decision at UFC 130 in May.
In his last outing, Pace lost unanimously to veteran Ivan Menjivar at UFC 133 in Philadelphia. He is 1-1 in the UFC after losing his WEC debut to Johnson.
In the UFC 139 main event at the HP Pavilion, a light heavyweight dream fight finally becomes a reality when former UFC champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua takes on the returning Strikeforce and former Pride champion Dan Henderson. In the co-main event, Wanderlei Silva welcomes former Strikeforce champ Cung Le to the octagon.

Hector Lombard vs. Trevor Prangley set for Bellator 58Bellator Fighting Championships announced today that reigning middleweight champion Hector Lombard will put his 24-fight undefeated streak on the line against former UFC fighter Trevor Prangley in a non-title catch-weight fight at 195 pounds.
Lombard (30-2-1) has finished 15 of his previous 19 opponents. Though he is known for his brutal knockouts, Lombard is also a Judo Olympian with a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Lombard's most recent victory came at Australian Fighting Championship 2 against Jesse Taylor via submission. The Bellator champ is anxious to return to the cage.
“I just want November to get here and knock someone out,” Lombard said. “I doesn’t matter who it is, I just want to do what I do and that’s win. I don’t know much about Trevor, but it doesn’t matter. I’ll be in front of my fans in Florida, and it’s going to be a show.”
Prangley (23-8-1) has walked away with one victory in his last five outings and is currently on a two-fight losing skid. The South African holds notable wins over Chael Sonnen, Matt Horwich and Keith Jardine. Prangley anticipates a hard fight against Lombard, but expects to finish the Brazilian.
“Both of us are going to get in that cage and throw bombs, no questions asked,” Prangley said. “It’s no secret both of us like to stand and bang, and that’s exactly what everyone is going to get. I know Hector is really tough on his feet, but so am I, so he’s going to have to play my game when the cage door shuts.”
Bellator 58 takes place on Nov. 19, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The event will air live on MTV2 and in commercial-free HD on EPIX at 9 p.m. EST.
