Aaron Rosa and Fabio Maldonado are set to square off in a light heavyweight match at UFC Live on Versus 6 on Oct. 1, at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.
Maldonado (18-4) is a heavy-handed Brazilian with incredible boxing skills. He was endured a record of 1-1 inside the Octagon, most recently dropping a decision loss to Kyle Kingsbury at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale. Maldonado’s UFC debut pitted him against James McSweeney where the Brazilian knocked out McSweeney in the first round.
Rosa (16-4) entered the UFC as a heavyweight, but lost his first and only fight Joey Beltran at UFC 131.
Having both combatants coming off a loss makes for an interesting match up.
“Two exciting light heavyweight sluggers have verbally agreed to throw down October 1st in Washington D.C. as Aaron Rosa takes on Fabio Maldonado,” said UFC President Dana White.
