It looks like Urijah Faber (26-5) and Dominick Cruz (19-1) may have a date set for July 7.
Zuffa chairman Lorenzo Fertitta has been entertaining fans as of late through his twitter account answering various questions.
Undefeated since 2007, UFC bantamweight title holder, Cruz, has won ten straight fights with seven of those coming in the WEC. This bout with Faber will mark the third time that the two have met, splitting the previous two bouts. Cruz most recently defended his belt against Demetrious Johnson at UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson in October of last year.
Receiving another opportunity at UFC gold, the ‘California Kid’ looks to take the best out of three series with Cruz as they meet for a third title bout. Faber has gone 2-1 since joining the UFC with the lone loss coming to the hands of Cruz. In a bantamweight title eliminator held at UFC 139, Faber earned a submission of the night victory over Brian Bowles, locking on a guillotine choke early in the second round.
The bout is believed to be set for UFC 148 on July 7, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
