Camozzi-Souza, Natal-Zeferino at UFC on FX 8, with Philippou outAfter a cut forced Costa Philippou out of UFC on FX 8, the main card has been reshuffled.
Chris Camozzi has been shifted into a matchup with former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, while Rafael Natal will take on promotional newcomer Joao Zeferino.
The UFC confirmed the changes on Friday morning.
Camozzi had originally stepped into the May 18 date as a replacement for C.B. Dollawayagainst Cezar Ferreira, but soon after accepting the fight, Ferreira pulled out, too. So instead, that fight became Camozzi vs. Rafael Natal.
But on Friday, it was revealed that Philippou was out of the event, and the UFC responded by pulling Camozzi from the Natal matchup to replace him, necessitating a new opponent for Natal.
Camozzi (19-5) will put his four-fight win streak on the line against Souza's three-fight streak. The fight will be 'Jacare's' first in the UFC since moving over from Strikeforce. He has won seven of his last eight, with a career mark of 17-3 with 1 no contest.
Meanwhile, Natal (15-4-1) is coming off wins in three of his last four while Zeferino (13-4) boasts seven consecutive victories.
UFC on FX 8 takes place on May 18 from Arena Jaraguá in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. Vitor Belfort fights Luke Rockhold in the main event.

UFC on FX 8: Nik Lentz in for Manny Gamburyan, meets Hacran DiasManny Gamburyan's injury woes continue, and he has been forced out of May's UFC on FX 8 event. In his place steps Nik Lentz (23-5-2 MMA, 7-2-1), who now meets Brazilian Hacran Dias (21-1-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
UFC officials today announced the switch.
UFC on FX 8 takes place May 18 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul. The event's main card airs on FX following prelims on FUEL TV and Facebook. The main event is a middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort (22-10 MMA, 11-6 UFC) and final Strikeforce 185-pound champion Luke Rockhold (10-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
Lentz returns to work after a decision win over Diego Nunes at this past January's UFC on FX 7 event, which also took place in Brazil. "The Carny" is 2-0 at featherweight since dropping down from 155 pounds.
Meanwhile, Dias makes his first appearance since winning a unanimous decision over Yuri Alcantara in June 2012. "Barnabe" was expected to face top 145-pounder Chad Mendes this past December before injury forced Dias out of the fight and off the card.
Gamburyan fought most recently at this past August's UFC on FOX 4 event, where he earned a decision win over Michihiro Omigawa. Gamburyan was also supposed to fight Mendes in a scheduled February fight at UFC 157, but "The Anvil" was also injured in that camp and forced to withdraw from the card.
A timetable for Gamburyan's return wasn't immediately available.

Alcantara-Vinicius, Dias-Gamburyan slated for UFC on FX 8 eventTwo new fights have reportedly been added to this May's UFC on FX 8 event in Brazil with bantamweights Yuri Alcantara (27-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) vs. Marcos Vinicius (20-4-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and featherweights Hacran Dias (21-1-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Manny Gamburyan (12-7 MMA, 3-5 UFC).
Brazilian media outlet SportTV.comfirst reported the new contests, though UFC executives have yet to make an official announcement.
UFC on FX 8 takes place May 18, likely at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul. The event's main card airs on FX following prelims on FUEL TV and Facebook.
Both new fights are expected to be a part of the evening's preliminary card.
Alcantara returns to action after a bizarre UFC on FX 7 effort which saw "Marajo" apparently take a first-round TKO win over countryman Pedro Nobre. However, referee Dan Miragliotta deemed the blows illegal, and with Nobre apparently unable to continue the bout was ruled a no contest. He faces Vinicius, a cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil" who earned a "Knockout of the Night" bonus in his UFC debut with a knockout of fellow cast member Wagner Campos. However, Vinicius then dropped to bantamweight for a December 2012 fight with Johnny Bedford. Unfortunately for Vinicius, he suffered a knockout loss in the contest.
Meanwhile, Dias makes his first appearance since winning a unanimous decision over Alcantara in June 2012. "Barnabe" was expected to face top 145-pounder Chad Mendes this past December forced Dias out of the fight and off the card. He now faces Gamburyan, who ironically was also supposed to fight Mendes in a scheduled February fight at UFC 157. Gamburyan was also injured in camp and forced to withdraw from the card. Gamburyan fought most recently at this past August's UFC on FOX 4 event, where he earned a decision win over Michihiro Omigawa.
