Ellenberger, Condit, Hendricks win UFC 158 bonuses

Jake Ellenberger, Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit each earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at Saturday's "UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz" event.

UFC President Dana White announced the winners at the evening's post-event press conference.

Ellenberger scored the "Knockout of the Night" award and Hendricks and Condit were given the "Fight of the Night" bonus. For the second straight UFC event, there were no submissions on the night, so no "Submission of the Night" bonus was awarded.

UFC 158 took place Saturday night at Montreal's Bell Centre. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Ellenberger picked up his bonus with a stunning finish of former Strikforce champ Nate Marquardt. On a card with three key contests at 170 pounds, the first-round knockout showed not only that Ellenberger has some of the heaviest hands in the welterweight division but is also worthy of real consideration as a title contender.

Hendricks and Condit met in the evening's co-main event, and the two welterweights went toe-to-toe in a bout that may earn some "Fight of the Year" consideration at the end of 2013. Hendricks walked forward throughout the contest firing his heavy left hand, but Condit stood firm in the pocket and returned fire with straight punches and knees in the clinch. Hendricks' superior wrestling ultimately earned him the unanimous-decision win, but the heart shown by both men earned them each a "Fight of the Night" bonus.

Injury forces Johnny Eduardo off UFC 158 card

An injury has forced Johnny Eduardo (26-9 MMA, 1-1 UFC) out of next week's UFC 158 event and his bantamweight bout with Yves Jabouin (18-8 MMA, 3-2 UFC).

UFC officials today announced the change, and Eduardo later tweeted that a shoulder injury is to blame.

It's not clear if a replacement will be sought, though with just 10 days until the event, it could be a challenge.

Featuring a welterweight title fight between champion Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce titleholder Nick Diaz, UFC 158 takes place March 16 at Montreal's Bell Centre. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Eduardo vs. Jabouin was slated for the Facebook portion of the card.

Eduardo, a 17-year Brazilian vet, made his long-awaited UFC debut in 2011. He snapped an 11-fight win streak with a decision loss to Raphael Assuncao, but after an injury layoff, he rebounded this past May with a decision victory over Jeff Curran.
