Koscheck officially in for Sanchez against Hughes at UFC 135 on Sept. 24 in Denver

It looks like Josh Koscheck tweeted his way into his next bout.

Koscheck takes over for the injured Diego Sanchez in the co-main event against Matt Hughes on Sept. 24 in Denver at UFC 135, the promotion announced Tuesday.

Sanchez broke his hand Monday and pulled out of the fight, and Koscheck immediately took to Twitter to politic for the spot, which was given to him.  Now he takes on the storied former welterweight champion with less than three weeks' notice, coming off a fractured orbital bone suffered in his title shot loss to Georges St-Pierre on Dec. 11.

The main event of UFC 135, to be held at the Pepsi Center, is the match between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones for former title holder Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Josh Koscheck Says He Has Accepted UFC 135 Bout With Matt Hughes

After repeated attempts to talk his way into a fight with formerUFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes went nowhere, it looks as though Josh Koscheck might finally get his wish -- and it's all thanks to Diego Sanchez's hand injury.

Just an hour after UFC president Dana White announced on Twitter that Sanchez was out of the UFC 135 co-main event with a broken hand, Koscheck took to his Twitter to say he'd accepted the fight, and was merely waiting to find out if Hughes would do the same.
