Means-Trujillo, Cruickshank-Martinez moved from scrapped UFC 151 to UFC on FOX 5
A pair of lightweight bouts looking for a home after the cancellation of UFC 151 now have a new date.
Tim Means (18-3-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. UFC newcomer Abel Trujillo (9-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Daron Cruickshank (11-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Henry Martinez (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) have been moved to UFC on FOX 5. UFC officials on Monday announced the switch.
UFC on FOX 5 takes place Dec. 8 at KeyArena in Seattle. It will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between champ Benson Henderson and top contender Nate Diaz. The card also features a co-main event of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Alexander Gustafsson and B.J. Penn vs. Rory MacDonald.
UFC 151 was scheduled to take place this Saturday at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. But when light heavyweight title challenger Dan Henderson was forced out with an injury and champion Jon Jones refused a fight with Chael Sonnen, the UFC elected to cancel the pay-per-view event.
Means stopped Justin Salas just 66 seconds into their fight at UFC on FX 3 in June to run his unbeaten streak to 11. The win, his ninth in a row, gave him two straight in the UFC. The Oklahoma native debuted at UFC on FUEL TV 1 with a unanimous decision win over Magalhaes.
Trujillo signed with the UFC earlier this month on the strength of a four-fight win streak over the past year. Trujillo trains with the "Blackzilians" camp in South Florida that also features UFC fighters such as Rashad Evans and Alistair Overeem. After starting his career 1-2, Trujillo rattled off four straight wins before a two-fight skid that preceded his current four-fight run.
Cruickshank, a cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter Live" this past spring, won his official UFC debut with a unanimous-decision victory over Chris Tickle on the preliminary card of the show's live finale. That victory was his fifth straight.
Martinez won four straight fights to get the call from the UFC, but dropped a split-decision at welterweight to Matthew Riddle in his promotional debut at UFC 143. But Martinez then dropped to lightweight and rebounded at UFC on FX 3 with a split-decision victory over Bernardo Magalhaes.

UFC on FX 3 adds Tim Means vs. Justin Salas
The UFC completed its UFC on FX 3 fight card on Friday, confirming several bouts and adding a lightweight contest of Tim Means vs. Justin Salas to the list.
Means (17-3-1) is on an eight-fight winning streak, including his Octagon debut at UFC on Fuel TV 1 in February. He’s a former King of the Cage champion and former training partner of current interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit.
Salas (10-3) is on a similar streak, having won his last six consecutive bouts. Training out of the Grudge Training Center in Denver, he holds a win over top welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger’s brother, Joe, and won his promotional debut, also on the UFC on Fuel TV 1 fight card.
