MMADiehards.com confirmed that Jessice “Evil” Eye and Sarah Kaufman will make their UFC debuts against each other.
Eye announced on MMA DieHards Radio that the bout will take place at UFC 166 on Oct. 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
“Me and Sarah are going to match up well,” Eye said of her UFC opponent. ”I’m not sure what she knows about me, that really doesn’t matter, that’s neither here nor there, but I’m excited to fight her. She’s a well-established woman as well as a professional fighter. This is what I’m at this level to do.”
Eye recently signed with the UFC following Bellator closing the door on women’s MMA and releasing all of their female combatants. She enters the UFC on a seven-fight win streak with a victory over long-time Bellator WMMA front runner, Zoila Frausto Gurgel.
Kaufman is the former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion. She lost the title, but worked her way back up the ranks and secured a title shot against Ronda Rousey, who defeated Kaufman via first-round armbar. Kaufman has most recently defeated Leslie Smith at “Invicta FC 5: Penne vs. Waterson.” She was scheduled to meet Sara McMann in her debut, but the American withdrew from the match due to injury.
