After losing his debut match via decision at the TUF 12 Finale, featherweight Tyler Toner has been released by the UFC, has confirmed.

Toner’s release was confirmed by his management at Magnetic Marketing Associates.

Toner (11-3, 1 NC) went 1-1 in the WEC with a win over Brandon Visher and loss to Diego Nunes.  When the WEC was absorbed into the UFC, Toner went into the Big Show, but fell to Ian Loveland via unanimous decision on Dec. 4.

Prior to his two defeats, the Denver-area-based Toner had just one loss, to WEC bantamweight contender Scott Jorgensen at Ring of Fire 29 on April 28, 2007.  He rebounded from that defeat to submit Bellator veteran Nick Mamalis in his subsequent outing.
