Kyle Kingsbury (9-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will fight Ricardo Romero (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC 126 on Feb. 5.
MMA DieHards learned of the light heavyweight matchup from sources close to the event.
Kingsbury is currently on a two fight winning streak. The TUF 8 alum bounced back from a loss in his UFC debut against Tom Lawlor to pick up a split decision win over Razak Al-Hassan. His most recent outing came in September, when he claimed a unanimous decision over Jared Hamman at UFC Fight Night 22. The bout with Hamman earned the two combatants Fight of the Night honors.
Romero, who trains out of AMA Fight Club, entered the UFC after a 10-1 run in Ring of Combat. He has held the Ring of Combat heavyweight and light heavyweight titles. He made his Octagon debut at UFC 116 with an armbar submission victory over Seth Petruzelli.
UFC 126, featuring a middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort, takes place in Las Vegas on Super Bowl weekend. The main card will air live on pay-per-view.
