Gleison Tibau is slated to meet Jim Miller in a lightweight match at a yet-finalized event in September, MMADieHards.com has learned.
A source close to the event said the fight has been verbally agreed to, although bout agreements have not yet been signed.
Tibau (21-6) is 7-4 in the UFC following a TKO of Caol Uno at UFC Fight Night 21 in March. The Brazlian has won four of his last five, with the lone loss coming via split decision to Melvin Guillard at the TUF 9 Finale last June. The American Top Team product submitted current teammate Thiago Alves in 2001.
Miller (17-2) has won four straight and is 6-1 in the UFC, with his only loss coming to Gray Maynard at UFC 96 in March 2009. Miller’s only other career defeat came against UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, an occasional training partner of his at AMA Fight Club in Whippany, N.J.
Miller, the younger brother of UFC 114 entrant Dan Miller, edged Mark Bocek in a unanimous decision in front of his hometown fans in Newark at UFC 111 in March.
